For the month of January 2014, I posted a painting a day for 30 days. Day 7 of 30: Adalynn exclaimed, "Look Gramma, a butterfly!" "Oh you have good eyesight, Adalynn," said Gramma. "It really is a butterfly day. They are flitting everywhere, but I can only see movement some of the time, not their shapes."

Mason was wondering where he had put his butterfly net. "Remember last summer when I caught two at one time?" he asked."Yes, Mason, we all cheered after you showed Adalynn, and Grandad, and I. Then you let them go, like a good boy. That was exciting!

Gramma also remembered how in spring and summer, she went for walks and there were so many, that they bumped into her. "Remember how we sometimes count them on the bottle brush bushes. Butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds are covering those bushes in summer!"

"We can't wait til summer," sang the children happily.
